EDUCATIONAL ROBOTICS TO SUPPORT
LEARNING OF STEAM SUBJECTS
Robo Lab is an innovative learning environment where students aged 8-19 can use educational robots to expand their knowledge of school curriculum subjects such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) as well as to develop digital and cross-cutting skills and learn the principles of business culture.
WHO WE ARE
A practical expression of the strategy of the Digital District project developed by Unindustria Reggio Emilia, Robo Lab aims to provide educational laboratories designed to stimulate student interest in STEAM subjects and to use the learning environment to counter the gender stereotypes that influence educational and career choices.
Based in Via dell’Abbadessa 6/E, Reggio Emilia, within the Laboratorio Territoriale per l’Occupabilità (the local area’s laboratory for boosting employability), Robo Lab is equipped with e.DO modular robots developed by Comau to enhance student engagement when learning various subjects.
Robo Lab holds educational courses – with different contents for different age groups and designed to complement a given subject (mathematics, coding, robotics) with cross-cutting skills – whose aim is to help students achieve school learning objectives while having fun and developing the skills of the new millennium.
OUR EDUCATIONAL COURSES
Robo Lab offers three, 4-hour course modules with different contents to cater for different knowledge levels and different school stages. Activities are carried out through group work. All the members of the various groups engage in a complex problem-solving process involving multiple phases and a great diversity of roles.
